Learn to represent complex knowledge from the pizza tutorial
One of our goals is to explain how to document complex knowledge using Description Logic and OWL — a language used to represent complex knowledge.
To make abstract concepts more accessible, we use a simple example: pizza.
The pizza example illustrates OWL principles without getting bogged down in technical details.
It is easy to take a pizza menu and ask people to extract information necessary to build a pizza ontology. It also is easy to talk about classifications of toppings.
Our pizza example focuses on OWL principles, such as open world reasoning and Boolean algebra, by using the familiar context of pizza toppings and bases.
